Po wykonaniu dwóch lotów sprawdzających uczeń-pilot wykonywał lot samodzielny. Podczas podejścia do lądowanie rozpoczął fazę wyrównania za wysoko i ze zbyt małą prędkością co skutkowało przepadnięciem i odbiciem od powierzchni drogi startowej. Po trzecim odbiciu złamaniu uległa stójka podwozia przedniego i samolot podpierając się na śmigle zatrzymał się na drodze startowej.
