Competency Based Instrument Rating (CB-IR) (CB-IR)
CB-IR (Competency Based Instrument Rating) is the path to obtain the IR based on competency assessment instead of a fixed number of hours. Regulated by EASA. May shorten time and cost compared to modular course.
Prerequisites
- PPL(A) or CPL(A) licence
- Medical
- Requirements set in CB-IR regulations

Training at ATO in CB-IR mode; competency assessment; exam.

Cost depends on ATO. Offers at schools with CB-IR approval.
