Po starcie na wysokości około 400 ft pilot stwierdził zatrzymanie pracy silnika. Pilot skierował samolot nad akwen wodny Jeziora Międzybrodzkiego i podjął nieudaną próbę uruchomienia silnika po której wodował na tafli jeziora. Pilot opuścił samolot samodzielnie nie odnosząc obrażeń, a samolot zatonął.
